Caveat Emptor is the bigger of the two used bookstores downtown. If you’re interested in older books, this is the one to pick. The first thing you notice going in are the nonfiction shelves stacked so high you need a ladder to look at them (and if you’ve ever dreamed of getting to use a rolling bookstore ladder, here’s your chance!) There are fiction sections, including a curiously large amount of mass market mystery paperbacks, if that’s what you’re into. It’s a lovely space with closets converted into little alcoves with different sections. Even if you aren’t interested in nonfiction, the whole place has a very nice vibe to it and I’d highly recommend a visit, especially if you’re just passing through Bloomington.
