Many public libraries have 'friends', groups of volunteers who work to raise money for the library. Bookstores are common, and MCPL is lucky enough to have a physical store right inside the library. The selection is cheap (though not as cheap as it is during their huge bi-annual book sales) and mostly fiction, with a very good selection of sci-fi, something I always pay special attention to. There's also some cute pins you can buy that are library or book-themed. It's a nice little store, and I've found some real gems there.
